NEED FOR RESPONSIBLE BUREAUCRACY FOR PRESENT INDIA

The civil servants in a parliament form of government are entrusted with the task of enforcing the laws of the land. They are also involved in the making of laws through delegated legislation, though the real representatives of people are politicians. Problems of the country are known to both politicians and bureaucrats and by their close coordination the problems of the country can be solved and the spirit of the constitution can be lived easily and swiftly. According to an eminent philosopher, “not the entire constitution but if only the preamble of the constitution is enforced and practiced by all Indians, all economic and social problems can be solved”.  The advent of global pandemic covid-19 has introduced all together a new gamut of activities for the civil servants.

Spreading awareness about the recent government schemes is the foremost responsibility of civil servants (IAS IPS IPS IAS & PCS offices). It usually happens that because of the prevailing unawareness about the public administration (i.e. governmental administration) on the part of public, government employees get engage in corrupt practices of red tapism and nepotism. The civil servants are also entrusted to bring in new legislation and promptly enforce the same for the development of the country. Peace and tranquility can be established if civil servants discharge their respective responsibilities in effective and efficient manner. In all the countries there are different forms of governmental bodies to select and train their civil servants. In our country it is Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and State Public Service Commissions (PSCs)

Developed countries have proved that it is the quality of civil services that is ultimately responsible for the development of any country. The vision and activity level of civil services and people’s awareness and participation decides the fate of any country on the path of development.

I earnestly and sincerely urge the youngsters of our country to study hard and dream to get into the civil services and hence actively participate in the socio-economic development of our country.
