DEVELOPMENT THOUGH UNTAPPED POTENTIAL OF PUBLIC

Journey to economic development that started after independence has brought desired fruits to India with the help of people and international agencies but the level of satisfaction is not up to the mark in all sectors of the economy. We can see that the public participation is an important pillar on which the developmental tasks rest. The government does its work – it formulates policies, plans and executes but without public participation its results do not reach the expected heights.

We can think of Insurance sector as one of the examples. If public participation in terms of investing their money into this sector is strengthened, then the task of arranging money for the developmental works would be arranged through public itself. Bringing public in front and its active and passive contribution becomes the deciding pillar on which the success of each and every policy and program of the government would be decided upon. India is world’s largest democracy and also the youngest country – in terms of its age of population. The growth of India is ensured and it would definitely reach to the stage of developed countries within shortest span of time now onwards.
