CIVIL SERVICES DAY

Civil services is an iron pillar based on which all public policies are executed. In India the attribute for the creation of Indian Civil Services goes to Lord Cornwallis. He is regarded as the father of ICS. The great leaders of India like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Vallabhbhai patel, Dr. B.R Ambedkar among others also contributed towards the development of civil services in India. These personalities advocated youth to join civil services and work for the country by remaining the part of the government.

The civil services can contribute in bringing rapid socio – economic development of the country. The role of civil services is ever expanding as the democracy is gaining deeper roots into the society. Considering the importance of civil services, this day is celebrated on 21st of April every year. On this day let us pledge to strengthen the spirit of civil services and hence to establish the ‘rule of law’ into the society.
