THE SPIRIT OF CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY

Like any other democracies of the world, India has adopted a democratic form of government. The concept of democracy though emerged in the west and grew worldwide and today it has encompassed nearly the entire world. The monarchy has gone and the democracy has come. With the Inception of democracy the power to rule over the country comes directly or indirectly into the hands of its citizens, since they cast their vote for their representatives and ultimately the head of the state is elected by the citizens only this is known as Republic.

The wishes of the government will be fulfilled by the democratic setup and would be enforced by the machinery called the civil services. The wishes of the citizens in the democratic setup is reflected in the legislature and the legislators raise their voice for the citizens into the top governing Institutions like parliament, which is well covered by the active media. The media conveys the proceedings of the parliament to the people – who had elected their representatives for this job. If the citizens are enlightened, responsible and dedicated towards their rights then their rights would be saved, protected and enforced by the Judiciary – which becomes the third pillar of government.  The enlightened citizens should be knowing all these three wings and also make others aware so that the governmental institutions can work together in close coordination for the upliftment of the society and humanity among all.
